This is a digital painting I did on Procreate. I titled it "The Drive Home" because that's what it was- one of my stops on my drive home.
I would often leave a friend's house in the evening, and with it being winter, it was often dark outside. I'm not sure what it was about this person, but whenever I left their house, the drive home permeated melancholy. There was this odd sadness that would settle over me, but also, a strange sense of comfort. This intersection in particular had a strong effect.
This person and I no longer speak, but I miss them very much. This picture was made while we were still in contact. Now that we aren't, the melancholy sinks further in.
